South Africa defeated Pakistan by seven wickets in the second T20I of the three-match series to take an unassailable 2-0 lead at Supersport Park in Centurion on Fridaymango win, December 13. (Highlights | More Cricket News)

Opener Reeza Hendricks’ maiden T20 hundred, 117 off 63 balls, and Rassie van der Dussen's unbeaten 38-ball 66 were the cornerstones of the victory, as the hosts chased down a 207-run target with seven wickets to spare in 19.3 overs.

With that, South Africa ensured they won a bilateral T20I series for the first time in more than two years. The Proteas had come into the second game after winning the first T20I on the back of a David Miller masterclass and George Linde’s all-round display.

Stapenhorst Charlotte put Germany ahead in the 13th minute through a field goal. Deepika restored parity in the 23rd minute but Zimmermann Sonja (24th) put Germany ahead again one minute later through a penalty corner conversion.

Speaking on India's performance the captain stated, "We played some intense matches against Argentina and Belgium in Antwerp, both in the same pool as us in the Paris 2024 Olympics. We played scintillating hockey in some moments while we struggled in a few others, but the team is constantly improving. We also used this opportunity to give some match experience to the younger players in the squad and improve our overall chemistry.”

Pakistan’s 206-5 was braced by an equally brilliant unbeaten 98 off 57 by opener Saim Ayub, who was desperately unlucky not to notch his maiden T20 century. He was stranded, unable to face the last nine balls of the innings. The teams’ combined 416 runs were the most in the 14-year history of their T20 matchups.
