Riding half-centuries from Jaykishan Kolsawala and Will Bosisto, Karnali Yaks defeated Chitwan Rhinos by 21 runs in the Nepal Premier League 2024 Eliminator in Kirtipur on Wednesday, December 18. (More Cricket News)

The Yaks put 175 runs on the board, with Kolsawala (53 off 39) providing the firework at the top and Bosisto (52 off 39), Chadwick Walton (46 not out off 23) giving the final flourish. In reply, the Rhinos only got to 154 runs in 20 overs, losing nine wickets in the bargain. Zeeshan Maqsood claimed three wickets for the Yaks, while captain Sompal Kami and Nandan Yadav bagged two apiece.

The Yaks will now meet the loser of Qualifier 1, which is being played between Sudurpaschim Royals and Janakpur Bolts.

Toss Update

Chitwan Rhinos won the toss and elected to field first against Karnali Yaks.

The Rhinos were placed third, while the Yaks were in fourth place in the league phase.

India desperately sought an equalizer. They even disposed of goalkeeper PR Sreejesh in the quest for a late goal. The push continued till the very last second of the match, when Shamsher Singh had a clear shot at goal but his strike went over the bar.
